About Eduespaña

EDUESPAÑA sees itself as a meeting point for the multiple sensibilities related to those sectors that use the Spanish language as a work tool or as the basic infrastructure of their economic activities.

Created in 1996, EDUESPAÑA was a pioneer within the Spanish territory and established a common support platform for the multiple sectors whose productive activity is linked to the language. The paradigmatic example lies on the publishing and educational services industries, without forgetting those economic sectors that place in the language an added value, such as the so called cultural and leisure industries, telecommunications, or audiovisual industries etc.

Born with a strong vocation of permanence, EDUESPAÑA maintains a belligerent position within the competitive market of languages: it encourages the processes of analysis and deliberation over the current position of these markets, and it also dynamizes the expansion potential of the Spanish language through cultural and economic measures.

In order to accomplish this, EDUESPAÑA articulates activities to promote and spread the Spanish language so as to reinforce the idea of Spanish being an economic and political resource, thus contributing to the appropriate positioning of Spain within the international arena.

Likewise, EDUESPAÑA keeps an open mind towards the analyzing and deliberation processes needed to increase and consolidate the degree of competitiveness of the industries and services that are based on the intensive use of the language within the context of a globalized economy.

Lastly, EDUESPAÑA keeps a close watch on quality standards which form the base of the existing competitiveness in the markets, monitoring and certifying (together with the University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid) the quality of one of the most dynamic agents in the expansion of the language, namely, Spanish language teaching centres.

During the last few years, EDUESPAÑA, through its continuous and determined activities and with the support from the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX), has eased the way for making it possible to regard industries that are based on the resources of the language as a sector with its own identity, with a strong capacity to establish synergies and with a deep impact on the contribution of its activity towards the increase in Gross National Product.
